David Lawson serves as Vice President and Underwriting Counsel for Chicago Title’s Seattle National Commercial Services (NCS) operation as well as other Fidelity National Title Group operations in Washington and Montana. David has over 37 years’ experience in the title insurance industry, starting with Safeco Title Insurance Company and later with Chicago Title Insurance Company. David has hands-on experience in all title department positions, including Examining Department Supervisor and Senior Commercial Title Officer. For the last 27 years he has served as an underwriter and is responsible for reviewing insurability of title to real property, determining availability of special coverages, and consulting with staff and customers to find solutions to complex title problems.

David has been a presenter at educational seminars for the Washington Land Title Association, the Montana Land Title Association, as well as our own employees and agents. Currently he is Vice President of the Washington Land Title Association. David is active in reviewing proposed legislation and regulations impacting the industry in Washington and Montana.
